Child Protection Topics

Child Safety
In addition to our adult defense seminars, the Center of Self Defense also offers classes on child safety. We can conduct seminars at your home, church, or community center.

Typical topics covered:

• common lures and tricks of predators
• common areas and methods of abduction
• ways to identify potential trouble
• ways to avoid and escape abduction
• tips and techniques to teach your children
• actions of children in public and with strangers
• statistics about the most common crimes committed against children
• how to provide documentation and identification for your children

Kid-Safe Network
The Center of Self Defense has partnered with the Kid-Safe Network to protect children in our community. CSD instructor Michael DeLio is a certified Kid-Safe Agent and acts as a liason for our local neighborhoods.

What would your child do?

How would YOUR child respond to real life scenarios? 

With your knowledge and supervision, we can test your child in one or more of the most common lures actually used to abduct children ( pet lure, handicapped lure, I’m lost help me, delivery man, etc..). 

We film the entire event and review with you the positive actions….and more importantly….the WRONG actions.  Then we provide info and training for the parents and the children to review as a family. This is an amazing way to test your child in real life situations without the dangers of the real world!  Call for details…

Personal Identification Card
One of the best and easiest methods of protecting your children is to have a copy of their most important identifying features captured on a Personal Identification card. Right-click here and save the PDF to your computer. Print it out and use an ink pad to get your child's fingerprints.

For children under five years old, be sure to capture their entire hand as their fingerprints are not yet developed enough for proper ID. For those over five, capture each individual fingerprint and apply each print in the indicated spaces on the card. Completely fill out the card, add a photo, and store in your files for safe keeping.
